On this anniversary of our Founder Pierre Bienvenu Noailles, we celebrate his life, which has been an inspiration for so many men and women during the last 216 years.
This letter demonstrates that he did not aspire to great things but only to fulfil the will of God in all things.
Not everyone is called to do extraordinary things – holiness does not consist in that. The most hidden and the most ordinary life can raise a faithful soul to the highest degree of glory. In Heaven we shall see good people who were unknown on earth placed by our adorable Master above many others who worked miracles and converted entire peoples. The Blessed Virgin did nothing great in the eyes of the world, and yet who can be compared with her in Heaven? Be well convinced of this truth that what is important is to do the will of God. If then you wish that all your actions, even the smallest, be agreeable to Jesus, you must do them in accordance with what God desires.
