The general
administration of the Religious Institute of the Holy Family is
entrusted to the Superior General and her Council all of whom are
elected by the General Chapter, the "highest internal authority
of the Institute" (const. 54).
It is currently
composed of eight members, including the Superior General, the Vicar
for the Contemplative Sisters, the Assistant General, the General
Bursar and four other Councillors. The General Councillors help the
Superior General in her task and have responsibility for different
regions and commissions as determined by her.
The Institute is
divided into regions called Provinces or Delegations for the
Apostolic Sisters and a Vicariate for the Contemplative Sisters. Each
Province or Delegation has for leader a sister termed the
Provincial or Delegate. They with their Councils constitute the local
administration in the Institute.
The Superior General
and her Council work together in a spirit of communion and
ensure the animation and formation necessary for the unity of the
Institute and the authenticity of life of all the sisters. They work
in close collaboration with the different leaders so that unity may
be strengthened (cf. const. 68). |
