COMMITTED IN AND FOR THE WORLD


At our General Chapters of 1993 and 1999 we, the sisters of the Religious Institute, convinced of the prophetic power of our charism for today's world, took up the challenge of our common mission:

to be and to make family.

We committed ourselves
to affirm the dignity of the human person
by standing against all forms of discrimination
among ourselves, in society and in the church.

Our present vision of the world and attentiveness to the signs of the times urge us to face certain challenges courageously.

1.

As consecrated women becoming more conscious of our own dignity, we wish to affirm and promote the dignity of all women so that together we may take our place in the church and society and contribute to the transformation of the world in our own specific way.

2.

In a world of interdependence we wish to:
   accept creation as a gift,
   live in relationship with Mother Earth,
   safeguard her integrity
   collaborate to see that her resources are equitably shared.  

In each country and region the sisters decide in prayer and discernment the specific issue they wish to  target to give practical effect to this commitment.
